In the tail end of 2024, we finished our latest hospitality project in the sunshine state of Queensland, Australia.
Norté and Sueño are the newest venues from the team behind iconic Burleigh Heads restaurant, Rick Shores. This striking Latin American-inspired dining destination crowns The Oxley precinct in Nobbys Beach. It is Pure White Lines Australia’s latest large scale hospitality fit out.

In charge of the project design is Jared Webb, head of multi award winning architecture firm J.AR OFFICE . J.AR was established by Jared in 2022 following a decade of experience working across acclaimed interior, architectural, and precinct-scaled projects. Jared’s brief was to capture the monolithic boldness of the modernist architecture the team witnessed during research trips to Mexico City.
“J-AR provided the detailed drawings, renders and some fabulous original furniture design for the venue which we were lucky enough to get the opportunity to bring to life” Matt Goss
A few strides into the beautiful venue you get your first glimpse of the eye-catching red spiral staircase taking you up to Norté’s Mezcal flowing sibling Sueno. The 140-seat Sueño boasts large umbrella lined dining terraces offering cityscape views. This in turn required fully weather proof, hard wearing dining furniture to cope with wind, rain and certainly lots of sunshine that the Queensland beach location will inevitably provide.
A few of us here at PWL were lucky enough to dine in Norte recently – think fresh ceviche, grilled skewers and tortillas alongside a list of spirits that takes notes from the cocktails of the Americas – heaven!
